The product calcium folinate is used as an adjunct that significantly enhances the effect of anti-cancer drug treatment. It is also uesd as antidote to folic acid antagonist, such as methotrexate(MTX). Used in conjugation with 5-Fu, enhancing the efficacy of 5-Fu. Often used in preventing severe toxic effects induced by overdose of methotrexate (MTX).
